A scalable and replication solution

Client profile

ICT operator with over thirty years of experience, specialized in customized solutions for enterprises and public administrations. It provides connectivity, cloud, security, and data center services, all managed directly through proprietary infrastructures and internally developed platforms.

 

The challenge

The request was to activate a Disaster Recovery site in the cloud for a client with an on-premises VMware environment, ensuring consistency between environments, minimal activation times, and compliance with current regulatory frameworks such as ISO 27001, NIS2, and DORA.

The operator also aimed to build a replicable DRaaS solution, ready to be extended to other clients.

The solution

CDLAN implemented a comprehensive DRaaS solution with physical integration through dual 10 Gbps fiber links and BGP peering. At the application level, perfectly integrated technologies were adopted:

- Veeam Suite, for VM replication on a dedicated tenant within vCloud Director
- Veeam Cloud Connect, for backup management and storage
- VMware vCloud Director, to virtualize and replicate the infrastructure using the same addressing plan

The entire setup was further enhanced by the use of VMware NSX, which enabled the creation of cloud network segments sharing the same addressing plan as the production environment - ensuring full consistency and rapid activation.
